CONCEPTWhy "ICHI"店名に込めたこと
"Ichi" means "one" in Japanese. We started in 2018 with a single chair, and we still work that way: one stylist stays with you from consultation to the last snip, and nobody is double-booked.「ICHI」は日本語の「一」。2018年、たった1席から始めたサロンです。いまもそのやり方は変わりません。カウンセリングから最後のひと切りまで、同じスタイリストが担当し、予約を重ねて入れることはしません。
Short hair has nowhere to hide. That's why we take it one millimeter at a time.短い髪は、ごまかしがききません。だから、1ミリずつ仕上げます。

Any cut looks sharp when you leave the chair. Short hair shows its flaws as it grows: the sides puff out, the back sticks up, the line gets harsh. We cut with the next four weeks in mind.どんなカットも、切った直後はきれいです。でもショートヘアは、伸びてくると差が出ます。横がふくらむ、後ろがはねる、境目がくっきり目立つ。ICHIは、その先の4週間まで考えて切ります。
Before the scissors come out, we check your head shape, cowlicks and growth direction. Most short cuts that "never sit right" are fighting one of these.ハサミを入れる前に、頭の形、つむじ、毛の流れを確かめます。「なぜかまとまらない」ショートの多くは、このどれかとケンカしています。
Every stylist cuts with Japanese-made scissors, sharpened every month. Sharp blades slice instead of crushing the hair, so the ends stay clean and grow out softly.全員が日本製のハサミを使い、毎月研ぎに出しています。よく切れる刃は髪をつぶさずに切るので、毛先がきれいなまま、やわらかく伸びていきます。
We leave weight where your hair needs it and blend the sides softly, so the shape holds as it grows. Fewer emergency trims, more good-hair weeks.重さを残す場所と、軽くする場所を見極め、サイドもなめらかにつなげます。伸びても形が残るので、「急いで切りに行かなきゃ」が減ります。

Wet cut first, then refined dry, 1 mm at a time, once we can see how your hair really falls.濡らして形をつくってから、乾かして髪の落ち方を見ながら、1ミリ単位で整えます。
Hair shrinks and moves as it dries. Cutting only wet can leave a line that shows up two weeks later; the dry finish removes it before you leave.髪は乾くと縮み、動きが変わります。濡れたまま切るだけだと、2週間後に段差が出ることも。乾かしてから仕上げることで、その段差を帰る前に消しておきます。

Twelve years at a salon in Harajuku, Tokyo, cutting mostly short hair. Moved to New York in 2016 and opened ICHI with a single chair in 2018. The name means "one": one client at a time, one millimeter at a time.東京・原宿のサロンで12年、ほぼショートヘアだけを切ってきました。2016年にニューヨークへ渡り、2018年に1席だけでICHIを開業。店名は日本語の「一」。お客様ひとりずつ、1ミリずつ、という意味です。
